Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 March 2026

1. AGREEMENT TO TERMS

By accessing or using MyTrustList (“we”, “us”, “our”, “the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

MyTrustList is operated in the United Kingdom. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of UK courts.

2. PURPOSE OF THE PLATFORM

MyTrustList is a trust-based business directory that enables users to connect with their network by sharing and viewing trust signals in relation to businesses.

The platform allows you to:

  • Search for businesses and tradespeople

  • Indicate trust in businesses based on your own experience

  • Connect with other users to build a trust network

  • Register and manage business profiles

  • Claim ownership of existing business listings

  • Publish job vacancies

Users can indicate which businesses they trust based on their own experience and, in doing so, make that information visible to others within their network and across the platform.

3. NATURE OF TRUST SIGNALS

Trust signals on MyTrustList:

  • Reflect individual user opinions

  • Are not verified unless explicitly stated

  • Do not constitute recommendations, endorsements, or guarantees by MyTrustList

MyTrustList does not assess, rate, or certify businesses and does not provide assurances as to the quality, suitability, or reliability of any business listed on the platform.

The platform does NOT provide ratings, reviews, rankings, or endorsements. A Trust:

  • Reflects a user’s opinion

  • Does not constitute verification or endorsement by MyTrustList

  • Does not guarantee quality, reliability, or performance

We do not verify all user interactions with businesses unless explicitly stated.

4. DEFINITIONS

For the purposes of these Terms:

“Trust” means a user’s personal expression of confidence in a business based on their own experience.

“Entity” means either:

  • An individual user account; or

  • A legitimate business account created and controlled by a user.

“Business” means any organisation, trader, or service provider listed on the platform.

5. USER ACCOUNTS

5.1 ELIGIBILITY

To use the platform, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age

  • Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements

  • Not be prohibited from using the service under applicable law

  • Create an account with accurate information

  • Maintain and update your details

By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

5.2 ACCOUNT RESPONSIBILITY

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials

  • All activity that occurs under your account

  • Providing accurate information when creating your account

Each person may only maintain one user account. You may manage multiple business profiles from a single account.

5.3 ACCOUNT SUSPENSION

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Breach these Terms

  • Contain false or misleading information

  • Are involved in suspicious or fraudulent activity

  • Are required to be suspended by law or regulatory obligation

6. INDICATING TRUST

6.1 ELIGIBILITY TO INDICATE TRUST

By indicating trust in a business, you confirm that:

  • You have genuinely interacted with or used the services of that business

  • Your Trust reflects your honest and independent opinion

  • You are not acting in a misleading, deceptive, or coordinated manner

You should only trust businesses you have genuine experience with.

6.2 ONE TRUST PER ENTITY

Trust indications are limited to one per Entity.

A user may:

  • Indicate trust in a business once via their personal account; and

  • Where applicable, indicate trust once for each legitimate business account they control or represent

Each account is treated as a separate Entity and may only indicate trust once per business.

6.3 PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

You must not:

  • Create or control multiple accounts to influence Trust counts

  • Use bots, scripts, or automated methods to create Trust signals

  • Create fake trust relationships to manipulate search rankings

  • Offer or accept payment in exchange for trust endorsements

  • Act on behalf of a business to artificially inflate Trust

  • Encourage or coordinate misleading Trust activity

Businesses must not incentivise or direct individuals to provide misleading Trust signals.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension.

7. TRANSPARENCY OF TRUST SIGNALS

7.1 NATURE OF TRUST SIGNALS

Users acknowledge that:

  • Trust signals are user-generated expressions of opinion

  • Trust counts reflect the number of Entities that have chosen to indicate trust

  • Trust signals do not:

    • Confirm verified transactions

    • Represent all customer experiences

    • Constitute endorsements by MyTrustList

7.2 PLATFORM INDEPENDENCE

MyTrustList:

  • Does not accept payment for Trust indications

  • Does not sell rankings or placement

  • Does not promote businesses based on commercial arrangements

  • Does not allow businesses to influence Trust signals through payment or commercial relationships

7.3 VISIBILITY AND ORDERING

When you mark a business as trusted, this may be visible to:

  • Your connections • Other users across the platform

  • Anyone viewing that business’s profile

Trust signals may be visible across the platform regardless of a user’s personal network.

The presentation and ordering of businesses may take into account relevance to the user, including:

  • Businesses the user has personally indicated trust in

  • Businesses trusted by other users or Entities within the user’s network

  • Other businesses on the platform

This ordering is designed to prioritise information that may be more relevant to the user, particularly signals from their own network. However, users may still view Trust signals from outside their network.

Users are responsible for assessing the relevance of any Trust signals they view, including whether those signals originate from within their network or from other users.

8. MONITORING AND INTEGRITY

We take reasonable and proportionate steps to maintain platform integrity, including:

  • Monitoring for unusual or suspicious activity

  • Reviewing flagged Trust indications

  • Removing or reversing Trust where misuse is suspected

  • Applying labels, notices, or other contextual information to Trust signals where appropriate

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or restrict accounts

  • Remove Trust signals

  • Limit visibility of certain Trust signals

  • Take any action reasonably necessary to protect users and the platform

9. BUSINESS LISTINGS

9.1 CREATING BUSINESS LISTINGS

By creating a business listing, you represent that:

  • You are authorised to act on behalf of that business

  • Business information is accurate, current, and not misleading

9.2 UNCLAIMED LISTINGS

Businesses may be listed:

  • By users; or

  • From publicly available information or partner schemes

Some businesses may appear as unclaimed listings imported from partner schemes. If you are the legitimate owner of an unclaimed business, you may claim it through our verification process.

Claims are subject to approval and may be rejected if we cannot verify your ownership.

A listing does not imply endorsement by MyTrustList.

9.3 LISTING REMOVAL

We reserve the right to suspend or remove business listings that:

  • Violate these Terms

  • Contain false information

  • Are the subject of legitimate complaints
